Write, and a person answers. There is no ticket queue and no chatbot - mCars is a small app maintained by one developer.
No, and neither can anyone else. The backup is encrypted with a key derived from your password alone; the password is never stored, never sent, and never known to us. An encrypted backup whose password is lost is permanently unreadable.
Your data inside the app is untouched. Open mCars, make a fresh backup, and keep the new password in a password manager.
Two ways, both complete:
Keep the old phone until you have confirmed the new one opens your documents.
Reminders are scheduled on the phone itself, so the cause is almost always local. Check, in order:
Yes. When Face ID fails or is unavailable, your device passcode opens the app instead.
The lock itself cannot be switched off: mCars locks every time you leave it. Your ID, licence and car papers are in there, so the app treats being open as the exception rather than the resting state.
Open the attachment and use the share button to send it wherever you need - Files, Mail, WhatsApp. You can also bring documents in the other way: from another app's share sheet, choose mCars, and the PDF or photo is imported and attached.
Delete the app. Its container goes with it, documents and attachments included. Nothing was ever sent anywhere, so there is no account to close and no request to send us.
Export a backup first if you might want the data later. Deleting the app is not reversible.
