CarDuo is a racing game for children, alone or with a friend on a second phone nearby. We built it so that no personal data is collected, stored, or shared — by us or by anyone else.
CarDuo does not collect any data. The app has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no in-app purchases, no third-party SDKs, and it never connects to the internet.
To play together, one player creates a room and the other joins it with its 4-digit code. The two devices then connect directly to each other over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth (Apple's Multipeer Connectivity), with no server in between. The connection is encrypted, and only a device that enters the right code can join.
The only things sent between the two devices are the game itself: the steering, the throttle, and the state of the race (positions, obstacles, scores). No names, photos, voice, messages, or other personal information are sent. There is no chat, and no way to find or contact strangers.
For this, iOS asks once for permission to use the local network. It is used only to find and connect to the friend's device nearby. Without it, single player still works.
CarDuo saves your best results, the maps you have unlocked, and the sound setting on your device only. They are never uploaded anywhere. Deleting the app deletes them.
CarDuo is designed for children. Because the app collects no data of any kind, no personal information from children (or anyone else) is ever gathered, processed, or shared. This is consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
If a future version of the app changes any of the above, this page will be updated before that version is released.
